Dedicated Fund (DF) Grants

Chi Psi's Dedicated Fund (DF) Grants support educational initiatives for Alphas by alumni entities. Applications are accepted anytime and will be reviewed within three weeks, provided they don't exceed the Alpha's available DF balance. The DF Grants Committee, consisting of three appointed Trustees, ensures all requests meet the necessary criteria for approval. Funds are distributed within two weeks following approval, promoting educational benefits aligned with Chi Psi's foundational principles.

Founding
Chi Psi was founded on May 20, 1841 at Union College in Schenectady, NY. The eighth fraternity founded in the United States and the fifth at Union itself, Chi Psi was unique, being the first fraternity to be founded upon principles of Brotherhood and as a social fraternity.
DF Grant requests can be made at any time by a Chi Psi alumni entity for the educational benefit of an Alpha. Grant requests that are in order and which do not exceed an Alpha’s DF balance, will be reviewed and decided upon within two weeks. Funding will be distributed within two weeks of Grant approval.
DF Grants Committee
A Committee of three (3) Trustees appointed by the Chair shall review and consider all DF Grant Request Applications that are properly submitted to the Central Office via chipsi.org. This committee shall have the authority to approve all requests so long as all the questions on the above grant checklist are ‘yes.’ The Central Office shall work with requesting entities to rectify any issues preventing approval. All requests not approved by the DF Grants Committee shall be reviewed and considered at the next meeting of the Trust.
Dedicated Fund Grants
The amount of DF Grant requests must be at or below the Alpha's DF available balance.
Applications, with Grant requests within the ALpha's DF available funds, may be received at any time and will be reviewed and considered within three weeks by the Trust's DF Grants Committee. The Central Office will inform the requesting entity of the outcome of deliberations as soon as it is known.
Funds will be processed and distributed to approved requesting entities within two weeks of the approval of requests.

Eligibility

Is the requesting alumni entity in good standing with its state of incorporation and the IRS?
Does the request stipulate that the grant be made to a charitable entity; is the request clearly educational (if yes, skip to #4)?Name of charitable entity?If clearly educational, is there documentation to support the request (such as a scholarship plan or a receipt/estimate for study room furniture, equipment, etc.)?Is the request using a Lodge educational study?
