David Gibson Memorial Scholarship

Overview: Annual scholarship established in honor of David Gibson, a Park County agricultural innovator and mentor, to support students pursuing vocational and trade education.

Award Details:

  • Amount: $1,000 per student

  • Number of Awards: 2 students per year
  • Eligibility Requirements:

  • Recent or soon-to-be graduate of a Park County high school (Park High, Gardiner, or Shields Valley) or home-schooled student

  • Planning to attend a vocational or trade school after graduation

  • Alternatively, planning to attend a post-secondary institution for prerequisites before vocational school enrollment

  • Under age 21 and currently enrolled in vocational school

  • Vocational and trade school education

  • Post-secondary prerequisite courses for vocational training
  • Application Period: February 10 - April 10 (annual)

    About the Scholarship: David Gibson was born July 25, 1941, in Livingston. He was known for sharing agricultural knowledge, inventing innovative equipment (including the patented Gibson Round Bale Feeder), and helping others with cattle, fencing, and farming. His family established this scholarship in 2020 after his passing.

    - One letter of recommendation required
    - Can be completed either:
    - Online using the PCCF letter of recommendation form
    - Paper format delivered to PCCF office at 104 S. Main St., Livingston, MT
    - Both online and paper versions available on website
