Cultural Arts Grant Program

Administrator: Civic Lubbock, Inc. on behalf of the City of Lubbock

Purpose: Provides financial support to Lubbock-based non-profit cultural organizations for projects that promote tourism and the arts and humanities in Lubbock.

Funding Source: Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) allocation collected from local hotels, motels, and bed and breakfasts (B&Bs). Revenues can only be used for certain expenditures as outlined by Texas Tax Code 351.101.

Geographic Scope: Lubbock, Texas-based organizations

Eligibility Requirements

• Applying organization must be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization or government equivalent
• Organization must be actively pursuing its goals as a chartered organization for at least one year prior to applying
• Project must directly enhance and promote tourism and the convention and hotel industry (likely to draw tourists and hotel guests)
• Project must fit into Tax Code 351.101(a)(4) funding category that enhances the Arts
• Applicants must be in good standing with both the City of Lubbock and Civic Lubbock, Inc. at the time applications are considered

Grant Cycle Information

2026 Cycle: Projects must take place between September 1, 2026 and August 31, 2027
