    Evaluation Criteria

    The Distribution Committee applies the following criteria:
  • Is the sponsoring organization(s) financially stable?
  • Will the proposed program or service have long-term impact?
  • Will a significant number of people benefit?
  • Will there be a significant community benefit?
  • Is there a real need for the Foundation to contribute?

Application Timeline (2016 Initiative)

Phase 1 - Letter of Interest:

  • Deadline: November 30, 2015

  • Submission: Submit letter of interest to Glens Falls Foundation
  • Phase 2 - Committee Meetings:

  • Timing: January 2016

  • Purpose: Distribution Committee meets with representatives of organizations whose letters appear likely to achieve project goals
  • Phase 3 - Full Grant Application:

  • Deadline: End of February 2016

  • Submission: Selected applicants asked to submit full grant applications
  • Phase 4 - Announcement:

  • Timing: April 2016

  • Announcement of winning applicant(s)
  • Letter of Interest Requirements

    Should include:

  • Brief description of proposal addressing intergenerational poverty and/or families in crisis

  • High-level goals

  • Proposed measures of success

  • Particular attention to Foundation's evaluative criteria:

  • - Financial stability of organization(s)
    - Long-term impact of program/service
    - Number of beneficiaries
    - Significant community benefit
    - Real need for Foundation contribution
