Creative Engagement Grants

The Creative Engagement Grants, offered by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, support individual artists and nonprofit organizations in Manhattan. This funding program provides over $500,000 annually for diverse artistic projects, including performances, exhibitions, and workshops. Grants aim to foster community engagement through art, promoting a just and equitable society. First-time applicants must attend an information session to apply. Creative Engagement is an arts funding program that provides grants to individual artists and nonprofit organizations for projects and activities that offer Manhattan communities diverse artistic experiences. Each year, the program supports over 200 arts projects in Manhattan, including concerts, performances, public art, exhibitions, screenings, festivals, workshops, readings, and more. Through this grant program, LMCC will award over $500,000 for projects serving Manhattan communities from Inwood to the Battery, taking place between the specified date range.
Funding is provided for projects in the performing, literary, media, and visual arts, ranging from folk/traditional forms to contemporary and socially - engaged artistic practices. Supported activities include concerts, performances, public art, exhibitions, screenings, festivals, workshops, readings, and more.
