Overview

The Community Pediatrics Training Initiative (CPTI) of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) works to improve child health by preparing pediatricians to be effective leaders and advocates by building community partnerships and working to impact systems change for children at the local level. CPTI believes all pediatricians should be equipped with the skills necessary to engage in evidence-based community health activities and effective collaborations to achieve optimal well-being for children. As trusted voices, pediatricians can communicate the issues children are facing and make positive changes that impact the health and well-being of children in their communities. CPTI Visiting Professorship - Food Security CPTI with the support and funding of ByHeart is offering 2 accredited pediatric residency programs up to $5,000 each to implement a 2- or 3-day Visiting Professorship to promote advocacy for children and advance the field of community pediatrics with a specialized focus on resident education, faculty development and community partnerships on the topic of food security.
