CPTI Leonard P Rome C​​​ATC​​H Visiting Professorship Grant

The CPTI Leonard P Rome CATCH Visiting Professorship aims to enhance community pediatrics by fostering collaboration among pediatric residency programs, community pediatricians, and health organizations. It offers funding to support up to five residency programs in hosting interactive sessions with experts on community health and advocacy. The initiative focuses on addressing health disparities, improving curriculum development, and increasing awareness of career paths in community health, ultimately strengthening the skills of pediatricians in advocacy work.

CPTI partners with the CATCH program to offer this opportunity, which promotes advocacy for children and advances the field of community pediatrics. This program will support up to 5 accredited pediatric residency programs with a maximum of $4,500 each to implement 2- or 3-day programs that provide an opportunity for pediatric faculty and residents, community pediatricians, community- based organizations and others to interact with leading professionals on community health and advocacy topics.
Visiting Professorship Program Goals
Provide an opportunity for pediatric faculty and residents, community pediatricians, community based organizations, and others to interact with leading professionals on community health and advocacy topics addressing health disparities and inequities.Promote partnership and collaboration in the community among pediatric residency training programs, community pediatricians, community health centers, community-based organizations, parent groups, public health departments, hospitals and universities.Enhance curriculum development on topics of community health and advocacy.Increase institution and residency program investment in community pediatrics.Strengthen pediatricians’ skills to engage in community health and advocacy work, including overcoming challenges. Increase awareness of careers paths in community health and advocacy to help foster leaders.
