Council 2 Dependent Scholarships

Geographic Scope: Washington State and Idaho
Overview: Council 2 offers 23 annual dependent scholarships to children who are dependents or under legal guardianship of local union members in good standing. Over the past 18+ years, Council 2 has awarded over $1,000,000 in scholarships to dependents.
Scholarship Types and Award Amounts
- One Four-Year Award: $5,000 yearly for four years ($20,000 total) - In Honor of Chris Dugovich, Longtime Council 2 President/Executive Director, Retired
- Six $5,000 Awards: One-time awards to dependent children
- Six $2,000 Awards: One-time awards to dependent children
- Ten $2,000 Awards: One-time awards representing donated funds to the scholarship program
- Golf Tournament Scholarships: Additional awards (historically $2,300-$2,500 per award)
Eligibility
- Applicant must be a child who is a dependent or under legal guardianship of a local union member in good standing of the WSCCCE/Council 2
- Must be applying for post-secondary education
- Recent high school graduates and currently enrolled students are eligible
Application Requirements
- Applications must be postmarked no later than March 15th each year
- Late applications will be disqualified
- Applications available for download in early January each year
- Specific eligibility rules and requirements outlined in each application
- Statement of Required Facts submitted for verification only (not reviewed by committee)
Selection Process
- Scholarship Committee makes selections prior to June
- Recipients and non-recipients notified by mail

How to Apply
Application Process
1. Obtain Application: Applications available for download around mid-January each year from the Council 2 website
2. Complete Application: Fill out all required sections of the scholarship application
3. Provide Required Information: Include Statement of Required Facts for verification purposes (not submitted to committee)
4. Review Instructions: Read all application instructions carefully regarding what additional information will be forwarded to the committee
5. Submit Application: Mail application - must be postmarked no later than March 15th
6. Await Notification: Scholarship Committee selects winners prior to June; recipients notified by mail
