Community Foundation of the Ozarks The Community Foundation of the Ozarks (CFO) provides philanthropic leadership to build stronger communities. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life in our region through resource development, community grantmaking, collaboration and public leadership. We help donors achieve their philanthropic goals through professional management and investment of charitable funds. We work with nonprofit organizations to help them fulfill their missions through fund administration, grantmaking and learning opportunities. We award scholarships to deserving students to help them achieve their educational goals. Coover Regional Resiliency Grant Program The Louis L. and Julia Dorothy Coover Regional Grant Program, a partnership between Community Foundation of the Ozarks and The Commerce Trust Company, seeks to support eligible agencies that serve low-income individuals and families and are facing financial challenges due to the loss or significant reduction of federal and/or state funding since January 2025. Recognizing the vital role these organizations play in addressing poverty, housing instability, food insecurity, and other critical social issues, the program aims to provide funding that helps ensure their long-term viability and continued impact in the communities they serve. Eligible proposals may request funding for projects such as organizational restructuring; the development of contingency plans; program and impact evaluations; consulting services; capacity-building efforts, etc.

Eligibility

Eligible organizations (nonprofit 501(c)3 organizations, government entities, school districts, or tax-exempt faith-based organizations) outside of Springfield and Greene County, but within the CFO service area, are encouraged to apply. This includes rural Missouri south of the Missouri River and outside the metro areas of St. Louis and Kansas City.
