Consistent Achiever Awards

Funder: HeadsUp San Rafael Public Education Foundation and Can Do! Education Foundation (joint sponsorship)

Geographic Scope: San Rafael City Schools and Dixie School Districts

Award Scope:

  • Two students honored from each participating school

  • Three grade levels: 5th grade, 8th grade, and 12th grade

  • Recognition with certificates of achievement

  • Special scholarship presentation

    • Selection Criteria:
    Students are selected by their Principal and teachers based on:

  • Consistent progress and commitment to developing academic potential

  • Good citizenship

  • Being dependable and enthusiastic

  • Being supportive of fellow peers, teachers, and Principal

    • Recognition:

  • Certificate of achievement from elected officials (Congressman Jared Huffman, State Senator Mike McGuire, Mayor Kate Colin)

  • Special scholarship presentation by Dominican University Vice President Peter Johnson (as documented in 2018-19 awards)

  • Recognition at annual awards luncheon

    • Participating Schools (San Rafael City Schools):

  • Elementary: Bahia Vista, Coleman, Glenwood, Laurel Dell, San Pedro, Sun Valley, Venetia Valley

  • Middle: Davidson, Venetia Valley (6-8)

  • High Schools: Madrone, San Rafael, Terra Linda

    • Background:
    HeadsUp and Can Do! education foundations have been working together for over 30 years to sponsor this annual awards program.
