About LPCF The Loma Prieta Community Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) foundation serving the Loma Prieta community in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It was founded in 1983 as a non-profit foundation to provide the community support to raise the funds for the construction of the Loma Prieta Community Center. After being part of the successful effort to raise $1,700,000, and completing the building, the foundation focused on many other improvements for the schools and community. Our focus today is on our community. We help raise money to support local activities and improvements and sponsor and support local organizations and events. Community Improvement Grants The purpose of the Community Improvement Grant Project is to encourage and support efforts by groups and individuals to improve the community. The grant program is for small projects – but many small projects together can offer big, positive changes for our Mountain Community. Examples of initiatives that qualify for a CIG include: Coordinating & sponsoring a community clean up dayBeautification Project including but not limited to improving landscaping in a public area (or areas of public access)Efforts to increase Disaster PreparednessImprovements to community parks/public areasOther projects that bring people together and build community. Grant requests are typically in the $100-$500 range. We will entertain larger requests.Eligibility
