Overview: Soroptimist International of Anacortes accepts grant applications from non-profit organizations and charitable organizations that benefit women and girls. After paying expenses, all proceeds from the Thrift Shop are donated to non-profit charitable organizations.

Funding Sources:

  • Eligibility:

  • Must be an IRS 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization; OR

  • Washington State nonprofit agency; OR

  • Public agency; OR

  • Unit of government; OR

  • Group seeking/receiving funding under the umbrella of a 501(c)(3) foundation

  • NOTE: SIAnacortes does not provide funding to individuals (except for student scholarships and awards)

  • All Anacortes School District grant requests must be submitted by the district or through the Anacortes Schools Foundation (not by individuals within the district)
  • What is Funded:

  • Programs and non-profit organizations benefiting women and girls

  • Charitable organizations serving the community

  • Major Projects: programs or projects requiring more than $5,000 which will have a long-term impact on the lives of women and girls in the local community or internationally

  • Organizations Regularly Supported:

  • SIAnacortes maintains independent Committees of Service focusing on Human Rights/Status of Women, Economic & Social Development, Domestic Violence and more

  • These committees can make small donations (under $5,000) to support organizations and charities without requiring a formal grant application

    3. Mail completed application to the post office box address printed on the application
