Community Grants Program

Geographic Scope: Douglas County, Arapahoe County, and the City of Aurora, Colorado

Award Amount: Total of $300,000 awarded across three funding areas ($100,000 per area)

Funding Areas

Applications are evaluated monthly until the limit for each category is reached:

• Respite for caregivers ($100,000)
• Transportation ($100,000)
• 3+ Funding - supports children ages 3 to 5 ($100,000)

Focus Areas

• Innovative projects geared toward:
  • Capacity building
  • Staff training
  • Program development
  • Community building for families
• Agencies working with non-English speakers are encouraged to apply

Eligible Applicants

Grant funds available to:

• Non-profit providers
• For-profit providers
• Program Approved Service Agencies (PASA)
• Community agencies (recreation centers, places of worship, businesses)
• Schools
• Other organizations serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and delays

Target Population

• Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and delays
• Residents within service area (Douglas County, Arapahoe County, City of Aurora)

Application Process

1. Contact the Community Outreach Department for application materials
2. Complete the Grant Application (form available on website)
3. Submit to: Dinah Frey at d.frey@dpcolo.org
4. Applications are evaluated monthly until funding limits for each category are reached

Required Materials

• Completed grant application form
• Project description addressing one or more of the three funding areas
• Information about organizational capacity and experience
• Timeline and budget for proposed project
