Community Grants

Funder: Benton Community Foundation Inc

Geographic Scope: Benton County, Indiana and surrounding communities

Purpose: Open requests for projects that benefit the community. Grant dollars have addressed needs and explored new opportunities in the community.

Funding Categories:

  • Requests up to $2,000: Rolling monthly deadlines (1st of each month), notification within 45 days

  • Requests over $2,000: Two annual cycles
  • Eligibility:

  • Projects must be for 501(c)(3) organizations or government entities

  • Must benefit Benton County or local communities
  • What They Fund:

  • Community development projects

  • Health and well-being initiatives

  • Educational programs

  • Fire department equipment and maintenance

  • Youth programs

  • Library services

  • Recreation programs
  • Application Requirements:

  • Description of project and timeline

  • Total project cost and amount requested

  • Desired outcomes with data and description

  • List of community partners involved

  • Letter of permission from governing body (board, council, superintendent, etc.)

  • For 501(c)(3): Copy of IRS Determination Letter

  • May need to host site visit

  • Final report required within 30 days of project conclusion

    How to Apply

    Application Process

    Step 1: Letter of Intent (LOI)

  • Access the online BCF grant portal

  • Create a new account with organization name and federal tax ID #

  • Complete the Letter of Intent with information regarding your grant request
  • Step 2: Full Grant Application

  • Upon LOI approval, complete the full grant application online

  • Include:

  • - Description of the project and anticipated timeline
    - Total cost of the project and amount requested from Foundation
    - Explanation of desired outcomes with data and description
    - List of community partners involved in the project
    - Letter of permission to request grant signed by governing body (board, county council, superintendent, etc.)
    - For 501(c)(3) organizations: Copy of IRS Determination Letter

    Step 3: Site Visit (if required)

  • May be asked to submit additional information

  • May be asked to host a site visit
  • Step 4: Final Report

  • If approved, submit final report within 30 days of project conclusion
  • Deadlines and Notifications:

  • Grant Cycle 1: Deadline April 24 @ 5pm; Notification by mid-June

  • Grant Cycle 2: Deadline September 25 @ 5pm; Notification by mid-November

  • Small Grants (up to $2,000): Deadline 1st of each month; Notification within 45 days
