Overview:
United Way of Treasure Valley accepts Letters of Intent from nonprofit organizations to participate in the annual grant cycle. All donations to the Community Fund are locally invested into organizations addressing the most critical needs in the Treasure Valley.

    Funding Priorities

    Grants may be awarded to organizations with programs that align with United Way of Treasure Valley's funding priorities in three areas:
  • Youth Opportunity
  • Healthy Communities
  • Financial Security

  • Treasure Valley region (Idaho)

    Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a nonprofit organization
  • Program must align with funding priorities (Youth Opportunity, Healthy Communities, Financial Security)
  • Must submit most recent IRS Form 990
  • Must submit independent financial audit or financial review (completed within last 18 months)
  • - Organizations with annual revenues above $500,000: Independent financial audit required - Organizations with annual revenues $500,000 or below: Independent financial review accepted

    Key Information

  • Letter of Intent deadline for 2026-27 cycle: February 18, 2026 at Noon
  • Notification date: March 5, 2026 (via email)
  • Late submissions will not be accepted
  • Organizations submitting LOI are reviewed by Vision Council Leads for alignment with funding priorities
  • Only organizations invited after LOI review move forward in full grant process

Local programs supported include: CATCH Taking Root (housing stability), Idaho Youth Ranch Hays House (youth shelter), Jesse Tree (emergency rental assistance), Advocates Against Family Violence, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys & Girls Clubs, Learning Lab (family literacy), YMCA child development, CASA, Genesis Community Health, Idaho Foodbank, Nampa Family Justice Center, Terry Reilly Health Services, Women's & Children's Alliance, Habitat for Humanity, and others.

Letter of Intent Process

Submission Period (2026-27 cycle):

  • Opens: February 2, 2026

  • Closes: Noon on February 18, 2026

  • Note: Late submissions will not be accepted
  • Required Materials

    1. Letter of Intent - demonstrating organizational alignment with funding priorities 2. Most recent IRS Form 990 3. Independent Financial Audit or Financial Review (completed within last 18 months) - Organizations with annual revenues above $500,000: Must submit independent financial audit - Organizations with annual revenues $500,000 or below: May submit independent financial review

      Submission Format

    • Submit all documents by Noon on Wednesday, February 18, 2026
    • Late submissions will not be accepted

    Review Process

    1. Letters of Intent are reviewed by Vision Council Leads 2. Review focuses on organizational alignment with funding priorities 3. All organizations submitting LOI notified via email by March 5, 2026 4. Only selected organizations invited to proceed with full grant application
