The Community Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization working statewide that offers tools to help Arkansans protect, grow and direct charitable dollars while learning more about community needs. By making grants and sharing knowledge, the Community Foundation supports charitable programs that work for Arkansas and partners with others to create new initiatives that address the gaps. Community Foundation of Faulkner County: Jerry B. Adams Excellence in Philanthropy Award The Community Foundation of Faulkner County supports nonprofit organizations through its educational workshops, grantmaking and philanthropic advice for smart giving. We are in the business of building better communities. Founded in 2001 through the vision of local philanthropists, the Faulkner County Affiliate of the Arkansas Community Foundation has become a cornerstone of charitable giving in the region. In its inaugural year, the affiliate raised $70,000, created its first donor-endowed fund, and awarded $10,000 in grants to support community initiatives. Over the past 23 years, it has grown to manage 83 funds with more than $11 million in assets and has distributed over $6 million in grants to strengthen programs and organizations across Faulkner County. In celebration of local generosity, the Foundation also established the Jerry B. Adams Excellence in Philanthropy Award, honoring outstanding community members such as Claudia and Milton Davis, Linda Linn, Robert Nabholz, Charles Nabholz, Dr. William Roberts, and Charles Weaver. Guided by a deep commitment to collaboration and stewardship, the Faulkner County Community Foundation continues to connect donors with opportunities to create lasting impact in the community they call home. The Jerry B. Adams Excellence in Philanthropy Award recognizes a significant and enduring commitment to philanthropy through direct philanthropic support, service that supports charitable causes, or other philanthropic initiatives to improve people's lives in Faulkner County. The Community Foundation of Faulkner County seeks nominations on an annual basis of individuals whoembody our values of meeting local challenges, building an inclusive community, being stewards of the public trust, and using strategic giving to achieve long-term results.
