Community Foundation Grants

Overview:
The Quad Cities Community Foundation makes grants of all sizes to nonprofits of all sizes through various grant programs and funds. Grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations addressing the most pressing needs and promising opportunities in the Quad Cities region.

Geographic Scope:
Primarily Rock Island and Scott Counties (Iowa and Illinois), though grants may be available elsewhere

Focus Areas:
The foundation supports nonprofits across multiple sectors. Board of directors sets policies and priorities for each fund established at the foundation, from which grants may be awarded.

Eligibility:

• 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and other charitable organizations
• Some grants available to non-501(c)(3) charitable organizations (with additional reporting requirements)
• Serving the Quad Cities region and surrounding areas

Oversight:
Board of directors, professional staff, grants and scholarships committees, and donor advisors ensure every grant is legal, charitable, and fulfills donor intent.

Application Support:
The foundation's grantmaking team provides support to nonprofits applying for grants, whether first-time or experienced applicants.

Application Process

1. Discover available grant opportunities through the Community Foundation website at qccommunityfoundation.org
2. Contact the grantmaking team for guidance on specific grant programs
3. Submit application through the online system (if application-based grant)
4. Save and return to applications as needed before submission

Required Materials

Application requirements vary by grant program. General requirements may include:

• Proof of 501(c)(3) status or charitable organization documentation
• Project/program description
• Budget information
• For non-501(c)(3) organizations: Expenditure Responsibility Agreement

Grant Reporting Requirements

All grant recipients must:

• Submit reports by the deadline provided in award letter
• Complete reports in the same online system used for application
• Submit interim reports for multi-year grants
• Fulfill all reporting requirements to be considered for future awards

Non-501(c)(3) Organizations:

• Must complete additional Expenditure Responsibility Reporting
• Details outlined in Expenditure Responsibility Agreement provided upon award
