NOTE: Applicants serving Indiana County should ONLY apply during our Fall Grant Round. Similarly, applications that serve the Portage community in Cambria County will also be reviewed by our Portage Funds Committee for the potential of additional grant funding during our Spring Round only. Finally, applicants who serve Indiana County are welcome to apply for grants from our Bork Family Fund using this application, but those applications are accepted during our Fall Round only. About Us The Foundation supports the work of nonprofits through grants to organizations directly from our donors; competitive grantmaking to fund strategic change in Bedford, Cambria, Somerset, and Indiana counties; and nonprofit capacity building through the Bosler Academy. Our mission is to empower all people to become philanthropists who have a permanent impact and leave a lasting legacy in our region. Annual Spring and Fall Grants The Community Foundation for the Alleghenies' Distribution Committee awards grants twice annually.  The maximum amount that an applicant may request from the Spring or Fall Grant Round is $7,500. While the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies welcomes applications from any nonprofit organization whose proposed program reflects our mission, we also encourage applicants to submit proposals for scalable projects (those with per unit costs) or for specific components of a larger project.
