Scranton Area Community Foundation Please Note: In this time of COVID-19 pandemic response and recovery, The Scranton Area Community Foundation recognizes that both the degree and the types of need in the communities we serve is unprecedented, and that most charitable organizations are impacted in some way. We know nonprofits have been working hard at pivoting and reimagining programs and service delivery in the middle of the pandemic. We aim to help nonprofits move their essential work forward during this critical time. The Scranton Area Community Foundation makes grants to foster good ideas that have the potential to strengthen our community and enrich the lives of the people of Scranton, Lackawanna County, and Northeastern Pennsylvania. The Foundation responds to community needs and opportunities with grants in such diverse fields as health, education, arts, environment, human services, and civic affairs. Organizations that serve the needs of residents in Lackawanna County are encouraged to keep the Foundation informed of their programs and services and to share their ideas about addressing community needs and opportunities. Community Events Grants A limited number of grants will be available annually to Lackawanna County nonprofit organizations hosting community events. These events must add value to the overall community and enrich the lives of those in our area. These grants will be awarded in amounts up to $1,000.Eligibility
