Community-based Veterinary Pharmacy Residency Program

Status: Not accredited; does not participate in PhORCAS match

Geographic Scope: North Carolina

Program Duration: One year, starting June 15 and concluding June 30 the following year

  • Patient-centered care

  • Practice management and advancement

  • Teaching and education

  • Medication therapy management (MTM)
  • Eligibility:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree required

  • Eligible for North Carolina pharmacist licensure

  • Will not sponsor nonimmigrant or immigrant status

  • Candidates who have completed PGY1 Community-based Pharmacy Residency or have equivalent experience are welcome

  • Background check required during onboarding

    4. Official Transcript: Communicate with pharmacy school to ensure official transcript submission via email to Program Director

    Required Application Materials

    • Letter of Intent: Addressed to Program Director describing reasons for pursuing residency and career goals
    • Curriculum Vitae (CV): Must include:
    • - Education and Training - Professional Experience - Experiential Education - Professional Memberships - Leadership Experience - Honors and Awards
    • Leadership Statement: Response to "What is your philosophy on leadership?" (500 word limit)
    • Reference Information: Names with degree/credentials, titles, employers, phone numbers, and email addresses for three (3) references
    • Letters of Recommendation: Three (3) letters via online recommendation form
    • Transcript: Unofficial transcript with application; official transcript from pharmacy school via email to Program Director

    Interview Process

    • Phase: January through February
    • - Virtual interviews with program and site - Medication therapy management (MTM) case exercise - Applications reviewed by Application Review Committee

    Post-Selection

    • Candidates notified of status on or around March 1
    • Successful candidates complete onboarding processes starting in March
    • Residency year begins on or around June 15
