Communities of Color Nonprofit Stabilization Fund (CCNSF)

Overview: A capacity-building grant program established by NYC Council in 2014 to support Black, Latino, and Asian-led community-based organizations (CBOs) throughout New York City's five boroughs.

Administering Organizations: Co-administered by New York Urban League, Hispanic Federation, Coalition for Asian American Children and Families, and Asian American Federation.

Geographic Scope: New York City (all five boroughs - Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Bronx, Queens)

Funding History:

2014: $2.5 million allocated

2022-2025: $3.755 million allocated annually by NYC Council

NYUL receives approximately $1.3 million annually for distribution

Total committed to Fund to date: $12.25+ million

634+ capacity-building projects supported to date

463+ organizations served by NYUL as of 2023

Eligibility:

Community-based organizations (CBOs)

Organizations that primarily serve a majority of African Americans as their constituency, OR

Organizations with 51% minority leadership on board/executive staff

NYC-based nonprofits
