Combined Pilot Research Grants: AAHS/PSF

The Combined Pilot Research Grants by the Plastic Surgery Foundation and the American Association for Hand Surgery aim to promote innovative research in hand surgery and related fields. Grants of up to $15,000 are available for one-year pilot projects to help develop surgeon scientists and advance clinical practices. Applicants must be affiliated with U.S. or Canadian institutions and hold relevant qualifications. The initiative emphasizes funding projects that contribute to the scientific knowledge of hand surgery.

The PSF, along with the AAHS, AAPPS, AAPS, ACAPS, ASMS, ASPN, ASRM, CSPS and PSRC, recognizes the importance of promoting innovative research in hand surgery, academic plastic surgery related to research, peripheral nerve research, microsurgery and stimulating fundamental research in plastic surgery. Together, these subspecialty organizations are dedicated to fostering the development of surgeon scientists and are committed to increasing the amount of research dollars, in order to fund pilot research studies that set the stage for investigators to apply to larger funding agencies.
The Plastic Surgery Foundation (PSF) and the American Association for Hand Surgery (AAHS) recognize the importance of fostering the development of surgeon scientists and innovative research in hand surgery and hand care. This grant is intended to fund a research project that will advance the scientific knowledge and clinical practice of hand surgery. This grant supports the preliminary or pilot phase of these research projects.

Eligibility

Applicants must:be a MD, DO, PhD, PT, CHT, or OT
hold a full-time clinical or research position in a U.S. or Canadian Institution where the research will be conducted.
be an AAHS member.

Ineligibility

Applications that do not address research in hand surgery will not be reviewed.
