Our Mission The Sephardic Foundation on Aging fosters innovation and collaboration in the field of aging so older people and their communities have the support and resources they need to flourish. Priority Areas: End of Life Care or Preventing Elder Neglect; Dementia Care and Brain Degenerative Diseases; Combating Social Isolation of Older Adults Combating Social Isolation of Older Adults If your organization is working to support older adults in one or more of our priority areas, we would love to hear from you. The grant aims to prevent and respond to elder abuse and neglect, which has been exacerbated by social isolation. The Foundation recognizes that isolation can lead to depression and physical ailments in older adults, and many have experienced barriers such as language and cultural differences that contribute to their isolation and lack of care.The grant supports trauma-informed care and mental health services for isolated older adults, aiming to help them reconnect socially in a dignified manner.Apart from direct care, the Foundation values intergenerational programming as a method to build social connections and reduce isolation.
