Mission

To support the underrepresented voices of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) artists in country music who have historically been marginalized and excluded from the spotlight and airwaves.

Background

Established in December 2020 through a partnership between Rissi Palmer and The Rainey Day Artist Fund. The fund builds on the work of Color Me Country Radio on Apple Music. Named in honor of Linda Martell's 1970 album "Color Me Country" - she was the first Black woman to play the Grand Ole Opry and chart a song on the Billboard Country Chart.

  • Distributed over 82 grants to BIPOC country music artists
  • Multiple recipients honored with inclusion in CMT's Next Women of Country program
  • Sent 16 artists to Europe, all expenses paid, to perform on the Color Me Country Takeover Stage at the Long Road Festival
