About COAD The Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development (COAD) was founded in 1971 with a mission to improve the quality of life for individuals and families in Appalachian Ohio. COAD provides direct services in 30 counties in Early Care and Education, Senior Corps, Weatherization and Energy Efficiency, and serves all 88 Ohio counties (and several other states) in its accredited Weatherization Training Center. COAD Appalachian Development Fund Grants The COAD Appalachian Development Fund, in partnership with FAO, awards grants to support innovative programs and specific needs of COAD member agencies. Examples of past grant awards include: A housing coordinator serving Athens, Hocking and Perry countiesCapital sewer line improvements for a community resource center in Ross County Grant requests should be limited to a maximum of $10,000.
