Overview

Club Grants Program

Program Description: The Club Grants Program provides funding for one-time-only community-service projects that involve the active, personal participation of Rotarians. Projects should serve as a means of enhancing the community and/or improving lives of the less fortunate where Rotary clubs are present.

Geographic Scope: Rotary District 6460 (Illinois, US)

Focus Areas: Projects should correspond with at least one of Rotary International's seven Areas of Focus.

    Eligibility Requirements

  • Rotary clubs in District 6460
  • Club presidents and presidents-elect will be notified of the maximum grant award amount in the last quarter of the Rotary year preceding the funding year
  • Participating clubs must contribute financially to their project (direct or in-kind contributions)
  • Projects must not directly benefit a Rotarian, employee, club, district, or other Rotary entity, or spouses/descendants/ancestors of any living Rotarian or Rotary employee

    What Grants Can Fund

  • Community-service projects involving active Rotarian participation
  • One-time projects that enhance communities or improve lives of the less fortunate
  • Projects aligned with Rotary International's Areas of Focus
  • Replication of successful projects benefiting additional communities

    What Grants Cannot Fund

  • Operating expenses of another organization
  • Travel, salaries, or administrative overhead costs
  • Land or building purchases or substantial building construction
  • Projects already initiated or completed (no reimbursements)
  • Projects that are short-term in nature or fund existing/ongoing projects
  • Projects that do not involve Rotary-sponsored implementation

    Project Requirements

  • Funds must be expended by the Rotary club, not given to another entity
  • Projects must be Rotary-sponsored and publicly identified as such
  • Must be completed by May 15 of the Rotary year in which funding is received
  • Project completion report due the earlier of 60 days after completion or May 15 of the same year

    How to Apply

    2. Submit by Deadline: All submissions must be received before end of day August 15, 2026
    3. Confirmation: A copy of your submission will be sent to you via email (time-stamped)
    4. Review Timeline: The Club Grants Committee will consider all applications received
    5. Decision Notification: Funding decisions expected by mid-September; awards announced via email
    6. Project Start: Projects should not start before awards are announced

    Required Project Reporting

    Projects must submit a completion report that includes:

  • Detailed report of all expenses

  • Copies of receipts for all items purchased

  • Account of Rotarian participation in implementation of the grant

  • Due date: Earlier of 60 days after project completion or May 15 of the same year

  • Each grant recipient will receive an email with a link to complete the final report
