Classroom Grants

Overview: Classroom Grants fund innovative and creative classroom projects that enrich standard curriculum and directly enhance learning opportunities for students in Jordan School District.

Geographic Scope: Jordan School District, Utah

Program Goals:

  • Enhance educational quality through creative and impactful classroom projects

  • Support teacher innovation by funding ideas that lack financial resources

  • Foster student engagement through dynamic and interactive learning experiences

  • Reduce teacher out-of-pocket expenses (teachers spend average $673/year on supplies)
  • Eligibility:

  • Licensed, full-time educators in Jordan District (Utah)

  • Includes art, P.E., and music teachers

  • Some exceptions for part-time educators considered case-by-case

  • Educators may receive only one JEF grant per year
  • Funding Details:

  • Individual limit: Up to $500 per educator

  • Team applications: Multiple educators can combine limits (e.g., 3 educators = $1,500), but total cannot exceed $500 per educator

  • DonorsChoose processing fees and suggested donations do not count toward maximum

  • Funding ends when budget depleted or by December 10, 2026, whichever comes first

  • Qualified grants awarded on "first come" basis
  • Funding Priorities:

  • Classroom supplies (particularly sustainable equipment)

  • All items must comply with district guidelines
  • Ineligible Items:

  • Food/snack items

  • Furniture for faculty (desks/chairs)

  • Furniture and equipment for virtual home offices

  • Salaries, honorariums, professional development, stipends, and travel
  • Material Ownership:

  • ALL awarded materials belong to Jordan School District regardless of DonorsChoose policy

  • Teacher/team has stewardship but not ownership

  • Generally materials stay with awarded school

  • If individual teacher transfers within district, they may request to take materials (principal decides)

  • Team-awarded materials must remain with department/grade level at original school

    2. Complete Jordan Education Foundation Application Form
    3. Provide specific details and costs for your project
    4. Submit JEF application

    • DonorsChoose ships all awarded materials directly to school

    If not funded through DonorsChoose:

  • Teacher or team of teachers orders materials through school secretary
