Circle of Caring Scholarship Program
Overview: A workforce development initiative created by Pardee Hospital Foundation to support UNC Health Pardee employees in their pursuit of continued education and professional growth.
Background: The program originated from an idea by Dr. Joel Callahan (Chief of Staff) and Dr. Gregory McCarty (Chief Medical Officer) to cultivate a culture of learning that benefits both staff and patients. Concept developed in 2023, launched as fully developed program with strong donor and hospital support.

Funding Sources: Most ongoing funding comes from employee payroll contributions (bi-weekly). Additional support from retired physicians and community members, local businesses, and former healthcare professionals.
