Chuck Acosta Scholarship

Overview: Honors the legacy of Chuck Acosta, whose 35-year career in education included serving as a bilingual education consultant at the Los Angeles County Office of Education and contributing to numerous local, county, and state educational committees. Through his leadership, vision, and advocacy, Chuck inspired educators and policymakers to champion multilingual learners across California.

Purpose: Supports bilingual classified personnel pursuing teaching or counseling credentials, helping them meet the needs of English learners through bilingual education.

Eligibility:

  • Bilingual classified personnel

  • Pursuing teaching or counseling credentials

  • Not applicable to high school students
  • Geographic Scope: California (with focus on Los Angeles County)

    Program History: 2026 marks the 30th year of the Multilingual Academic Programs Leadership Network's Scholarship recognition.
