The Foundation is focused on the communities served by Christian Financial Credit Union, including:
• Macomb County
• Oakland County
• Wayne County
• St. Clair County
• All counties in Michigan where the credit union operates

Eligibility

• Applicants: Nonprofit organizations (501(c)(3) status required)
• Focus: Organizations must align with the Foundation's four philanthropic pillars
• Geographic Focus: Organizations serving Macomb, Oakland, Wayne, and St. Clair counties

Recent Award Examples (2023-2024)

Fall 2023 Distribution: $17,300 awarded to 7 organizations
• Deo Gratias Ministries Detroit – $5,000 (food pantry)
• The Jenna Kast Believe in Miracles Foundation – $3,300 (wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses)
• Clinton River Watershed Council – $2,500 (watershed protection)
• Haven Homes of Detroit – $2,500 (housing for human trafficking survivors)
• Immaculate Conception School PTC – $2,000 (mental health and suicide prevention education)
• Detroit Public Library Foundation – $1,000 (youth educational programs)
• Detroit Friendship House – $1,000 (educational programs and food assistance)

Spring 2024 Distribution: $26,700 awarded to 5 organizations

MCREST (Macomb County Rotating Emergency Shelter Team) – $10,000 (shelter, meals, support services)

Macomb County Habitat for Humanity – $6,000 (bathroom and bedroom renovations)

Habitat for Humanity Detroit – $5,200 (home rehabilitation)

Faith Works Michigan – $3,500 (wheelchair-accessible ramp installation)

St. Faustina Conference, Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit – $2,000 (food pantry replenishment)

Summer 2023 Distribution: $7,500 awarded to 4 organizations

Champ Life – $3,000 (Kids Camp for foster children)

The Daisy Project – $2,500 (accessible recreational spaces)

Single Family Living – $1,000 (support for single-parent families)

Money Matters for Youth – $1,000 (financial literacy camp)

Spring 2023 Distribution: $4,500 awarded to 4 organizations

New Hope Center for Grief Support – $2,500 (Kids Camp for bereaved children)

WHOH Detroit – $1,000 (community policing initiative)

S.K.I.P. (Supporting Kids in Pain) – $500 (care packages for sick children)

Stevenson High School Band Boosters – $500 (transportation and supplies)

February 2023 Distribution: $6,000 awarded to 2 organizations

Vista Maria – $5,000 (professional work clothing for transitional living program residents)

St. Faustina Conference of St. Vincent de Paul – $1,000 (groceries, rent, utility assistance)

Total Awards to Date

As of Spring 2024, the Foundation has awarded $107,200 to area nonprofits.
