  • Achievability: Can applicant deliver on promises? Is workplan realistic? Are there ethical or health/safety issues?

  • Impact & Dissemination: Does application identify relevant audience? Does work transform perception on specific issues? Why is this work important now?

  • Rigour: Does work present balanced viewpoints? How solid is investigative fieldwork plan? How will sources be checked for accuracy?

  • Match to Funder: Is this fund best suited? Are there other partners better positioned to support?

    How to Apply

    Application Process

    1. Initial Submission:
    - Submit brief about project via online submission form OR email (CGMRF@Protonmail.com)
    - Available in Arabic, Hindi, Spanish, and Portuguese

    2. Review:
    - Check Global Media Response Fund board regularly meets to review all applications

    3. Selected Applicants:
    - Invited to submit further details about project via online form
    - Form also requests references that board can consult regarding applicant's background and experience

    4. Notification:
    - Successful applicants notified within five weeks from submission
    - Due to high volume, unsuccessful applicants will not receive responses

    Required Materials:

  • Project brief describing the initiative

  • Project details (for shortlisted applicants)

  • Two references

  • Degree certificates and transcripts (if applicable)
