Charles D. McArthur Memorial Scholarship Education Recognition Award Grant

The Charles D. McArthur Memorial Scholarship recognizes outstanding third and fourth-year students in accredited respiratory therapy programs. Funded by the American Respiratory Care Foundation, this award honors Charlie McArthur's legacy as a dedicated educator in respiratory care. Recipients may receive up to $1,000, including a certificate, travel, and registration for AARC Congress. Preference is given to Native American students or those from Minnesota, fostering diversity in the field of respiratory therapy.

The American Respiratory Care Foundation may award up to $1,000 in memory of Charlie McArthur. This award consists of a certificate of recognition, coach airfare, one night’s lodging, and registration for AARC Congress.

Eligibility

Applicants/nominees are accepted from all states.Must provide verification of enrollment in an accredited respiratory care training program.Must provide official transcript verifying a GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent.Must provide letters of recommendation from the program director or other senior faculty member and from the medical director or other physician instructor attesting to: approval of candidate’s paper, candidate’s worthiness for the award, and candidate’s potential for a career in the profession of respiratory care.
