CFNJ: Mercer County Community Grant

The CFNJ: Mercer County Community Grant supports nonprofit organizations in addressing community needs in Mercer County. The grant prioritizes initiatives focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion, aiming to benefit underserved populations through programs in education, healthcare, and housing, among others. With a funding limit of $10,000, the grant fosters collaborative partnerships to tackle systemic issues and leverage additional resources, ensuring a broad impact across multiple communities.

Grantmaking Philosophy
The Community Foundation of New Jersey considers regularly how we as an organization and civic community leader can effect lasting change that leads to greater equity. To that end, our discretionary grantmaking is informed by many of the below criteria and grounded in the associated values.

We seek to support initiatives that:
Pilot a good idea and have a realistic path toward broader uptakeHave an achievable public policy objectivePromote a public systems fix that CFNJ and partners have the tools/standing to influenceReach a New Jersey community or group of people who are not being served or have historically been underserved.Leverage other private or public resources
The Mercer County Community Grant welcomes proposals from nonprofit organizations addressing a wide range of community needs and priorities. While projects from all areas will be considered, priority will be given to initiatives that demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, both in leadership and service delivery.
Key focus areas for funding consideration include, but are not limited to:
Programs and Services: Support for initiatives that directly benefit underserved populations, including education, healthcare, housing, food security, employment, and youth development.
Collaborative Partnerships: Funding for collaborative projects and partnerships between nonprofit organizations, community groups, government agencies, and other stakeholders to maximize impact and address systemic issues affecting underserved populations.
General Operating Support: Funding to continue supporting the mission of the nonprofits.

Eligibility

The Community Foundation of New Jersey is pleased to share grant opportunities for area non-profit organizations.Nonprofit organizations with less than $1,000,000 operating budget serving Mercer County are encouraged to apply. Nonprofits with larger operating budgets may apply at your discretion.
