Overview

Celebrating Ohio Book Awards and Authors Grant (OH) This LSTA grant is an opportunity to enrich library collections with books having an Ohio connection. The Celebrating Ohio Book Awards & Authors (COBAA) LSTA grant program invites Ohio libraries to apply for grant funds to support collection development and collection-related program initiatives for their communities. The COBAA grant enables libraries to purchase books by Ohio authors as well as books recognized by Ohio-based book award programs. Since 2016, the COBAA grant initiative has provided funds to help libraries expand collections and support literacy by connecting Ohio readers to Ohio authors and Ohio book award winners. Funding The grant award is a maximum of $2,000 per eligible library. Matching funds are not required for this LSTA grant program.

If multiple branches within a public library system apply, each application must identify a specific audience and need; each application must be unique.Ohio School Libraries/Media Centers that are accredited by the State of Ohio. If multiple libraries or media centers within a school system apply, then each application must identify a specific audience and need; each application must be unique.Ohio Academic libraries must be part of an accredited institution of higher learning. If multiple libraries or campuses centers within an academic institution apply, each application must identify a specific audience and need; each application must be unique.Special libraries are understood to be libraries or organizations that maintain and provide institutional support for specialized collections. This could include maintaining collections that focus on a particular topic or area of interest, serve specific constituents, or support a specific organization or purpose. Eligible special libraries must be willing to share or make their collections accessible to the public. Those special libraries that meet the above LSTA requirements are eligible to apply.Libraries must use the awarded federal funds to purchase titles listed in the COBAA Title Selection Tool.
