Overview: International program supporting literacy, education projects, and community development globally through partnerships with local organizations and franchisees.

Status: Active and ongoing

Purpose: Support literacy and education projects globally by building schools and libraries, supporting awareness campaigns, and enabling employee volunteerism in local communities

Strategy: Partner with area organizations and Franchisees embedded in grassroots programming and existing funding efforts to magnify impact

Regional Programs

Latin America & the Caribbean

Brazil - Movimento Arrendondar Partnership

Model: Customer round-up program at point of sale

Impact: Collected funds support 15 social organizations focused on education

2023 Results: $181,000+ raised

Focus: Provide better future to thousands of Brazilians

Jamaica - National Scholarship Programme

Duration: Active since 2001

Funding: Franchisee-supported scholarship expansion

Coverage: Supports students transitioning from primary to secondary and secondary to university

Award Details: Covers schooling costs, books, and supplies

Selection: Based on need, athletic ability, or academic excellence

Eligibility: Open to students outside BK community and to employees

Europe & the Middle East

Spain - Red Cross & Replanta Pachamama

Partnership: RBI Iberia with Red Cross and Replanta Pachamama

Project: Build awareness and safeguard biodiversity of five Spanish forests

2023 Impact: 500+ trees planted; absorbs 800kg of CO2 gas annually

Additional: Opportunities for ongoing environmental work

United Kingdom - UK Youth Partnership

Partner: UK Youth, leading charity serving young people

Network: 8,000 youth organizations and national partners

Services Supported: Safe spaces, mental health support, employability training

2023 Donation: $107,000+

Asia Pacific & Africa

Room to Read Partnership (15+ years)

Duration: Over 15 years of partnership

Impact: 153 schools impacted; 120,000+ students reached
