BURGER KING℠ Scholars The Burger King Foundation is a U.S. based 501(c)(3) public nonprofit that believes without education you limit your potential to be your own way. Inspired by Burger King Restaurants co-founder, Jim McLamore, The Burger King Foundation believes in empowerment through education and lending a helping hand, when needed, thus allowing you to live life your way. To this end, we supply emergency relief to our employees and provide essential resources to help the students of today and the scholars of tomorrow discover their full potential. Through the BK℠ Scholars program, we’ve awarded nearly $64 million to over 55,000 deserving students across North America. Our goal is to grant one scholarship for every BK® restaurant — that’s more than $7 million each year! The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. James W. McLamore WHOPPER® Scholarship Recipients will be chosen from the both BURGER KING® General Track and BURGER KING® Employee-Based Track applicants. Following the application submission deadline date, Scholarship America will review applications for eligibility. Scholarship America will make the following award selections: Up to 3 James W. McLamore WHOPPER® scholarships of $60,000 granted to the most highly qualified students demonstrating leadership, substantial work experience and financial need.

Eligibility

You can learn more about this opportunity by visiting the funder's website. Who is eligible to apply? All Company and participating Franchise restaurant, corporate and field employees, spouses or domestic partners of employees, and dependent children of employees are eligible. All high school seniors, regardless of whether or not they or their parent/guardian is employed at BURGER KING®, previous recipients of a BURGER KING scholarship are are also eligible to apply. Recipients must be: Citizens of the United States or CanadaStudents who who are seniors at a high school or home school in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam or CanadaStudents who are applying as a full time freshman to a four-year accredited, college or university that is located in the United States or CanadaStudents who have a cumulative unweighted grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale or the equivalentStudents who demonstrate an active leadership role in community service, athletics, and/or similar co-curricular activity (such as student government, team sports, fraternal life, etc); andStudents who demonstrate substantial work experience and financial need
