The Community Foundation for a Greater Richmond The Community Foundation of Richmond is a philanthropic organization dedicated to improving quality of life across the Richmond region by connecting people, ideas, and resources for lasting community impact. Captain Earle Worley Scholarship The Captain Earle Worley Scholarship Fund was established in 2017 to honor the memory of Captain Earle Worley, a career pilot with United Airlines for 35 years, retiring in 1988. His love for aviation started when he entered the Navy as a naval air cadet. He then became a flight instructor and a member of the Civil Air Patrol. He founded the Eagles Chapter of the Virginia Aeronautical Historical Society in Williamsburg. The purpose of the Fund is to support post-secondary educational scholarships for qualifying students planning to study aeronautics, aerospace, aviation or related engineering.

Eligibility

Eligible student must be a graduating high school senior of a public, private, or homeschool in Virginia at the end of the current academic year.Eligible student must be a candidate for high school graduation at the end of the current academic year, and plan to enroll in an accredited 2-year or 4-year community college, college or university, or vocational school, the following academic year.Eligible student must be planning to study aeronautics, aerospace, aviation or related engineering.Students who have received the Captain Earle Worley Scholarship in the past are eligible to reapply for support and will be considered in competition with all other qualified candidates.
