• Preventing a disaster
• Living through hardship

Selection Process

• A select group of writers from the FWAA vote on the winner each year
• Weekly nominees announced during football season
• Final winner selected before Orange Bowl game

Award Recognition

• Winner included in festivities during Capital One Orange Bowl week
• On-field trophy presentation at the Orange Bowl game
