C. Scott & Dorothy E. Watkins Charitable Foundation Grant - New Organizations

The C. Scott & Dorothy E. Watkins Charitable Foundation Grant supports new organizations in Utah focusing on education, health care, and community services. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profits serving local areas. The foundation prioritizes programs promoting self-reliance through scholarships and humanitarian aid. Applications are accepted annually until August 15, with notifications by November 30. Notably, it does not fund endowments or multi-year pledges, ensuring targeted support for immediate community needs.

The C. Scott and Dorothy E. Watkins Charitable Foundation was created to assist educational, research, and charitable organizations in our community that serve others in need. The Foundation’s purpose is to give to others as Scott and Dorothy did during their lives, with an emphasis on supporting local (Utah) programs that promote self-reliance – ones which will help those in need to gain additional education, health care, or other services so that they are then able to help themselves.
The Foundation’s focus areas of giving are:

• Education

General, business, and nursing scholarships (financial need-based)
Youth/family support programs
For new organizations requesting funding:
Please submit the information by August 15 for consideration of funding each year.
You will receive notification by November 30 if a donation is made.
We generally do not send follow-ups if funding is not approved.

Eligibility

Organization must be a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt non-profit designated organization by the Internal Revenue Service. Organizations must be located or directly serve areas in the state of Utah.

Ineligibility

We do not fund requests for endowments, buildings, or capital campaigns, nor political organizations/lobbying.We do not fund multi-year pledges.
