Dorothy E. Kennelly Watkins (1919-1996) was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was a devoted family member remembered for her cooking, love of gardening, sense of humor, and tennis skills. Dorothy served as a full business partner to Scott in all his ventures and was the family historian. She emphasized the importance of education, reading, and creativity to her children and grandchildren.

Scott and Dorothy married on December 29, 1941, in Tacoma, Washington, while Scott was serving in the Army Air Corps.
