Burlington Community Fund Grant

The Burlington Community Fund Grant, established by the Main Street Community Foundation in 2011, aims to enhance the lives of Burlington residents through charitable projects. The fund supports nonprofits and organizations that address Basic Needs, Access to Opportunity, and Vibrant Communities. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations and public units serving Burlington. Notably, organizations must provide services directly to Burlington residents and adhere to specific grantmaking criteria.

The Main Street Community Foundation, Inc. is a community foundation serving Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington and Wolcott. Programs and policies of the Foundation continually evolve in order to remain responsive to the community.
The Burlington Community Fund is an endowed fund at Main Street Community Foundation serving the residents of Burlington. The fund was established in 2011 by a group of committed community leaders in Burlington who were interested in creating an additional resource for charitable projects and programs that would enhance the lives of Burlington residents.
Grantmaking Criteria
Grant requests should fall within the following program areas: Basic Needs, Access to Opportunity and Vibrant Communities. The Foundation is looking to support nonprofits and organizations as they work to sustain and improve the delivery of services in challenging times.

Eligibility

Grants are made for a charitable purpose and must serve the public to be a charitable expenditure. General Competitive Grants are awarded to 501(c)(3) not for profit organizations and 170(c)(1) public or governmental units serving the community of Burlington.Either the organization or the program for which funding is requested must provide a service to the residents of Burlington. Strong documentation must be provided from out-of-area agencies that serve individuals from the town, and such requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Ineligibility

If an organization’s request for funding is approved two years in a row, the organization is asked to wait one year before submitting another request for funding.Follow up reports from all closed grants must have been completed and returned
to Main Street Community Foundation.
