Burke Women's Fund Grant

The Burke Women's Fund, established in 2009 by 15 women, aims to unite diverse groups around critical issues affecting women and families in Burke County. Operating under the Community Foundation of Burke County, it supports 501(c)(3) organizations with grants for charitable, humanitarian, or educational purposes. The Fund prioritizes programs that enrich the lives of women, target underserved populations, and foster collaboration among different backgrounds, while ensuring a minimum project size of $5,000 for consideration.

Operating under the auspices of the Community Foundation of Burke County, the Burke Women's Fund was created in 2009 by a group of 15 women. The Burke Women's Fund aspires to connect all parts of our community and to bring a diverse group of women together around substantive issues relating to women and families.

Eligibility

BWF grants are made to tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organizations that impact Burke County women and their families.Burke Women’s Fund Grants may be used only for charitable, humanitarian, or educational purposes.BWF Funding Priorities include programs and services that:Support the needs and enrich the lives of women and families.Target a diverse population of women and families.Address the basic needs of underserved women and families.BWF encourages proposals that:Demonstrate collaboration and cooperation, fostering partnership or fellowship between individuals or groups of different backgrounds/experiences.Enhance or improve organizations which serve clients whose needs are not being met by existing services.Emphasize prevention and early intervention.

Ineligibility

BWF will not fund the following:programs outside of Burke County unless directly benefiting Burke County.school specific projects – unless it is a pilot for a larger strategy and there is a plan included for implementation at other schoolsannual fund campaigns or capital campaignsprograms fostering specific religious or political beliefsindividuals (including scholarships)organizations which have not been determined to be tax exempt as described in Section 509(a)(1) and 170B (1)(a) of the Internal Revenue Codeendowment augmentation fundraising events and performancesmarketing or other recruitment activities
