Joseph Bruno Charter Leadership award-winning schools. Our Shellie-Ann Braswell “Shine Brighter” individual grant for charter school volunteers is also returning for a third year.

The 3rd Annual Summit brings together past and present grant-award winners alongside amazing charter school leaders from across the nation with active, interactive sessions, dedicated networking opportunities, and an amazing time celebrating in Miami!

What We Are Looking For: Game-Changing Charter Schools

Charter Schools and small Charter networks (less than ten schools) who have perfected their model and have made long-lasting impact on their students, with leaders who not only lead in their schools but also in the charter school community. These schools feature impressive track records in educational performance and family engagement.

The ideal Charter Model IMPACT school or small network provides quality charter education, excellent educational results, and demonstrates the ability to adapt and grow to ensure all of its students experience an education that is right for them.

General Criteria:

• Impact: Are there measurable results? Is the IMPACT diverse and deep?
• Program: Is the program inclusive, effective, and focused.
• Leadership: Can the leader articulate the need and impact of the effort? Is the leader a model of integrity and commitment?
• Growth: Is the program/effort sustainable? Are the future plans inspirational?
• Support: Is there third-party research, votes, and testimonial support for the effort from a variety of sources (including students)?

Funding

One $20,000 grant award winner. Two $10,000 grant award winners.

Eligibility

• Charter schools who have been operating for at least one school year and are in good standing with their districts/authorizers are eligible for IMPACT Grants.
• The S. Joseph Bruno award Charter School Leadership award is for schools who have at least achieved their first charter renewal, and small networks of schools (under 10 locations).
• Only one award category can be applied for by a single charter school location for Student Empowerment, Community Engagement, and Educational Innovation.
