Bradley Bunte Scholarship

Overview: Need-based tuition assistance to families desiring Christ-centered, academically-focused Lutheran elementary education.

Eligibility: Families committed to providing an academically-focused Lutheran elementary school education for their children in need of financial assistance

Background: Founded in 2004, Lutheran Elementary School Association (LESA) provides comprehensive educational resources to schools serving approximately 8,200 students attending 34 Lutheran elementary and high schools in the metropolitan St. Louis area, as well as four Lutheran education-related agencies. Since its inception, LESA has awarded more than 11,000 need-based scholarships totaling $7 million to children attending Lutheran elementary schools in the St. Louis area.

The Bradley Bunte Scholarship Endowment Fund was established to honor Bradley Bunte, who passed away on March 7, 2011, at the age of 21 in a tragic car accident. Bradley attended Lutheran elementary schools as a child and later attended the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where he was studying broadcast journalism. He was a member of Beta Sigma Psi Lutheran fraternity and an active member and usher at University Lutheran Church.
