Summary
The Birtcher Family Foundation Grant supports U.S.-based churches and Christian organizations, focusing on sustainable projects and physical assets outside the U.S. The foundation emphasizes the importance of Christian values in projects, promoting evangelism and discipleship. Grants prioritize construction and sustainability efforts that foster self-sufficiency while adhering to Biblical teachings. Organizations must be tax-exempt and demonstrate a commitment to sustainability, ensuring long-term impact without sole reliance on donations.Overview
Background Joanne and Ron Birtcher were born and raised in Christian families; their parents understood and taught them the Lord’s expectations for marriage, child rearing and lifestyle. They believe that Christian values are the foundation for strong families. By having sustained Christ’s values in their marriage and faith, they have learned that it is only through Jesus Christ that their salvation and eternal life have been granted. Their prayer is that the Birtcher family might all continue in the Lord’s hands and always seek His presence and guidance, that the love for Christ will be actively shared with our children as well as the unsaved throughout the world. Birtcher Family Foundation Grant The Birtcher Family Foundation provides grants to U. S. based churches and Christian organizations for physical assets and sustainable projects outside of the United States. Our heart is that this type of two-tiered partnership on the foreign mission field will promote Christian teaching, evangelism and discipleship and will ultimately lead to the project’s self-sustainability. Evident within each project are Biblical teaching and discipleship methods that promote Christian values. Types of projects we would like to partner on: Physical Assets Construction or acquisition of buildings, land or equipment that are used to support the project’s Christian mission. We place a high priority on grants for seminaries and pastor training schools; other examples include physical expansion or upgrades of existing Christian school campus facilities, perimeter walls for security and protection, chapels, multi-use facilities for students and the local community, equipment necessary to achieve certification. Sustainability Projects A project that is targeted for sustainability will include elements of income generation or skills development that is used to support the ongoing needs of the local organization. Another way to describe sustainability in this context is that the organization has goals and plans for its ministry to generate income at the local level that has the potential to lessen the need for ongoing dependence on donations and gifts. We recognize that many missions require ongoing financial support but Foundation grants will be offered only to those who show a reasonable plan or program for sustainability.Eligibility
