Grant Details

The Bexley Community Foundation administers a semi-annual grant program. The Foundation is open to receiving completed submissions that will create and inspire projects preserving the Bexley experience. To date, over $1.2 million has been reinvested into the Bexley community through this unrestricted fund.

  • 1st Cycle: Letter of Intent deadline Jan 16, Grant Application deadline Feb 20, Awards in Apr 2026

  • Faith-based organizations (for non-religious programs only)
  • Groups without tax exempt status must enter into agreement with Foundation assuring grant use meets charitable purposes

    Ineligible Projects

  • Endowment funds
  • Fundraising expenses
  • Direct or indirect administrative/operating expenses of non-501(c)(3) organizations
  • Capital campaigns
  • Sectarian religious purposes
  • Projects committed prior to grant application submission
  • Projects attempting to influence legislation or intervene in political campaigns
  • Financial assistance to fundraising events or activities of other organizations

    Funding Principles

  • Geographic Restrictions: Grants benefit residents of Bexley
  • Universal Participation: Proposals should demonstrate fairness, equity, openness to all Bexley residents, and create no arbitrary barriers
  • Grant Distribution: Reimbursement basis upon receipt of appropriate documentation (unless prior arrangements made)
  • Matching Funds: Paid only after required matching funds obtained and verified
  • Project Management: General administration must be performed by Project Manager named on initial application
  • Grant Acknowledgement: Grantee must publicly recognize Bexley Community Foundation funding through signage, publicity, and/or printed material
  • Collaborating Organizations: Require written memorandum of understanding (MOU)

How to Apply

Grant Application Process

#### Step 1: Submit Letter of Intent (LOI)
1. Submit LOI by specified deadline through online form
2. LOI must be no more than one page and include:
- Organization's official name and contact information
- Brief summary of organization's mission and recent work (2 sentences maximum)
- Total estimated project budget (including funds committed or requested from other organizations)
- Amount and type of support being requested from Bexley Community Foundation
- Narrative description and scope of work to be performed and accomplished, with evaluation standards
- Collaborating organizations
- Description of how proposal meets Foundation's program guidelines
- Potential project impact on community at large

#### Step 2: BCF Letter Review Process

  • Foundation reviews LOI

  • If project is valuable to community, organization may be invited to submit full application
  • #### Step 3: Submit Full Application
    1. Application details full scope of project including:
    - What will be done with grant money
    - How project will impact Bexley community
    - Timeline for anticipated benefits
    - Ability to perform and execute strategy
    - Plan to achieve stated goals
    - Assessment of sources of funding beyond BCF
    2. Submit electronically through online grant application process
    3. All materials and required information must be submitted electronically

    #### Step 4: Receive Grant and Execute Impact
    1. Once notified of grant award, provide details on:
    - How funds are allocated
    - How project impacted community
    2. Complete:
    - Financial Report Form
    - Project Report Form
