Scholarship to assist with medical education tuition for children, stepchildren, and grandchildren of active and retired Denver Police officers and professional staff.
Program History
The scholarship was created to acknowledge a generous financial gift given to their son, Dr. Denis Bensard, by Dr. Lawless in memory of Captain Lawless of the Denver Police Department. Dr. Denis Bensard is now a recognized expert in the medical field in Denver.
Program Expansion: Starting in 2025, the scholarship was extended to include children, stepchildren, and grandchildren of DPD professional staff (previously limited to active and retired Denver Police officers).
