The Benedict R. Lucchesi Young Scientist Travel Award in Cardiac Pharmacology honors Dr. Lucchesi's contributions to cardiovascular pharmacology and mentorship. Presented biennially, this award supports early-career researchers within ten years of their PhD, who are ASPET members. Recipients receive complimentary registration, travel expenses up to $1,000 to attend the ASPET Annual Meeting, and an opportunity to present their work during a dedicated session.

NOTE:  This award is presented biennially, in odd numbered years. The nomination is due at the deadline. Candidates can be self nominated or nominated by other ASPET members. Benedict R. Lucchesi Young Scientist Travel Award in Cardiac Pharmacology The Benedict R. Lucchesi Young Scientist Travel Award in Cardiac Pharmacology was established to honor Dr. Lucchesi's lifelong scientific contributions to our better understanding and appreciation of the pharmacological treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease, and for his mentoring of countless prominent cardiovascular pharmacologists in translational approaches. The award will be presented biennually starting in 2017 and continue in odd numbered years. The award consists of: Complimentary registration and travel expenses (up to $1,000) for the awardee to attend the ASPET Annual Meeting. Invitation to present during a Cardiovascular sponsored session during the ASPET Annual Meeting.  An award certificate.

Eligibility

You can learn more about this opportunity by visiting the funder's website. Candidate must be within 10 years of receiving their PhD. There are no restrictions on institutional affiliation, nationality or age of the candidate, but the candidate must be a member of ASPET in good standing (i.e. current year's dues must be paid prior to applying). Candidate's research interests must be related to cardiovascular pharmacology, as indicated by the candidate's curriculum vitae and bibliography. Candidate must be a first (and presenting) author of an abstract submitted for the ASPET Annual Meeting. Candidates can be self nominated or nominated by other ASPET members. You must be a member of this organization to apply for this award - become a member. There are no restrictions on institutional affiliation, nationality or age of the candidate, but the candidate must be a member of ASPET in good standing (i.e. current year's dues must be paid prior to applying).

Ineligibility

No candidate may receive more than one ASPET award in any given year. The current division chair and secretary/treasurer and the ASPET Council president and secretary/treasurer are ineligible for division awards during their active tenure.
