Overview

BAFF Alumni Mentorship Program

Overview: Creates opportunities for BAFF alumni to share experiences and develop skills as mentors or mentees through one-on-one professional development relationships.

Geographic Scope: Open to BAFF alumni from Baltic States

Eligibility:

Targeted at different BAFF alumni groups based on program and experience:

As Mentee:

  • Leadership Academy program participants (school graduates): seeking career advancement and vocational guidance

  • Leadership Academy, Professional Internship, Research Scholar, Graduate Scholar program participants (less than 2 years work experience): establishing in a work field/position

  • Professional Internship, Research Scholar, Graduate Scholar program participants (more than 2 years work experience): seeking to change work field/industry
  • As Mentor:

  • All BAFF alumni who have completed their programs in good standing

  • Can be from any BAFF program track
  • Program Structure:

    Type: One-on-one mentoring (online or in-person)

    Duration: Minimum 4 months

    Time Commitment:

  • Initial stages: at least once per week

  • Later stages: no less than monthly

  • Recommended: minimum 6 times every 4-6 weeks for approximately 2 hours each

  • Exact frequency and format agreed upon by mentee and mentor

  • BAFF hosts online event where prospective mentors and mentees meet

  • Participants provide feedback with top 3 preferences for matching

  • Program administrators build final matches based on shared preferences and compatibility
  • Support Provided by BAFF:

  • Mentor training and mentee briefing

  • Opening event for mentors and mentees to establish authentic connections

  • Check-in points for reflection and guidance throughout program

  • Resources on mentoring best practices and topical content

  • Closing event to celebrate learnings and achievements

  • Ongoing support from BAFF Alumni Coordinators

  • Must have completed BAFF program in good standing

    2. Express interest as mentee or mentor
    3. Participate in online matching event where you can meet and interact with potential matches
    4. Provide feedback on top 3 preferences for matching
    5. Participate in mentor training or mentee briefing
    6. Attend opening event
    7. Begin regular one-on-one meetings with matched partner

    Timeline:

  • Application deadline: September 18 (annual)

  • Matching event held after applications close

  • Program typically begins following matching
