An anonymous donor established The Augusta Health Nursing Endowment Fund to support high school graduates pursuing a career in nursing. The donor’s lifelong dedication to healthcare inspired the creation of this $2,000 scholarship to provide opportunities for the next generation of nursing professionals.

The scholarship is awarded to a high school senior pursuing a career in nursing. Applicants must have historical ties and permanent residence in Augusta County, including the cities of Staunton or Waynesboro.

The scholarship is administrated by the Community Partnership Committee of the Augusta Health Board of Directors. Scoring of applications will be based on academic field of study, financial need, and academic achievement. Applicants must show evidence of satisfactory academic performance, with a minimum of 3.0 GPA. Applications will also be scored on personal qualifications such as goal setting and selfmotivatio

2025 Guidelines
An anonymous donor established The Augusta Health Nursing Endowment Fund to support high school
graduates pursuing a career in nursing. The donor’s lifelong dedication to healthcare inspired the creation
of this $2,000 scholarship to provide opportunities for the next generation of nursing professionals.
The scholarship is awarded to a high school senior pursuing a career in nursing. Applicants must have
historical ties and permanent residence in Augusta County, including the cities of Staunton or
Waynesboro.
The scholarship is administrated by the Community Partnership Committee of the Augusta Health Board of
Directors. Scoring of applications will be based on academic field of study, financial need, and academic
achievement. Applicants must show evidence of satisfactory academic performance, with a minimum of
3.0 GPA. Applications will also be scored on personal qualifications such as goal setting and self-
motivation.
Completed applications must be submitted no later than midnight on March 4, 2025. The scholarship
recipient will be notified by the end of May and must return the required agreement to confirm acceptance
of scholarship award, along with a letter of gratitude to the anonymous donor. The scholarship will be paid
directly to the educational institution and may be used for tuition and on-campus housing expenses.
The scholarship is renewable annually for up to three years as long as the awardee meets the following
criteria:
• Evidence of good academic standing and maintains a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (with
verification by submission of an official transcript)
• Submits a declaration of financial need
• Submits an official transcript from the Office of the Registrar by June 1st of each year to the
Augusta Health Scholarship Committee
